Picture my week. Celebrating St Martins day without my trusty Samsung

Last week my little compact camera that goes with me everywhere, decided to fall out of my pocket, and break. I have felt quite lost without it.

Therefore part of my week as been taken up trying to see if I can get it repaired and at reading reviews of new ones in my price range.

I haven’t taken as many photos as I would like, and the ones I did are pretty blurry, as they were taken with an old brick of a camera I bought years ago.

At least you get a bit of an idea of what I have been up to

I was able to borrow a friends camera  when we went walking through the woods at the week-end

On Monday it was St Martins  day  and I joined the villagers of Gois on a coach trip to Alvares

Here they celebrate the day  by roasting chestnuts . It is known as  Magusto

the nuts are cooked in a smoldering fire of pine needles,

 and  drunk with Jeropiga , which is new wine  that has been mixed with sugar and  fortified with aguadente ( a type of brandy)

   it was a lovely  afternoon of eating, drinking , dancing, socializing and  listening to the accordion band .

  There were lots of ladies  working  very hard, helping the  elderly and less able to enjoy the celebration too

I have done some creative  work this week , but  most of the photos I took came out blurry
