Picture my week – A busy week of walking .. November 6, 2013 by portugalholidayguide Leave a comment I joined in a walk for Breast cancer We walked around Gois and ended up at a new centre, which has information about Gois and it’ history I also went on an interesting mushroom walk, where we had an expert explain about the mushrooms we found. The death cap we found looked so innocent but we found out just a tiny bit will kill you . It takes about two weeks until you die from kidney and liver failure ! This strange one is edible like this but not once it comes out of the ground and looks like a mushroom ! Out of the 14 different varieties of mushroom we saw , only this one was edible . The lesson I learned was …. it is much safer to buy them at a supermarket ! My third walk of the week was to the Templar cross in the hills above Gois. It was quite a climb Although it looks so close in this photo, it take about an hour to get to the views of Gois were great from up there Again we saw lots of mushrooms , but left them well alone and wild boar tracks were easy to spot . Towards the end of the walk there were lots of big chestnut trees and the path was littered with sweet chestnuts so it didn’t take long to collect a bag full squash soup and chestnuts have been on the menu this week ! With 3 days of walks my 2 classes, and the usual everyday stuff I got little done creatively I managed to make some lentil beads Some came out really well which I hope to make into pendants Advertisements Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading...
