Picture my Week – Coimbra, Cooking and Crafts October 30, 2013 by portugalholidayguide Leave a comment On Sunday a friend and I went for a lovely walk along the river Mondego In Coimbra We passed a few nice looking restaraunts and an Irish bar on the way. It was a bit early to stop for a Guinness ….will make that another day . It felt like a lovely Summers day but the trees reminded us it was Autumn Such wonderful colours ! We visited the old water purification works , which is now a small museum and saw a lovely water feature in the Mondego park Then we crossed over the river and started to walk back . We passed the Coimbra boat club and some lovely green spaces before crossing back via a modern bridge to have a look in these glass cubes . Each one covered a science / technology topic, and are a learning space for children linked to Coimbra university. This week I have also been busy thinking up ways to use my enormous squash ( no idea what sort it is) I roasted the seeds. Some in chilli and olive oil and others in cinnamon and sugar they taste better than they look ! I made gallons of soup, and am going to try making a NOT Pumpkin pie with the rest ( see how it looks next week ! ) I also went to my craft class, where we made Xmas things as well as making up ribbons for a Walk in aid of Breast Cancer .
