Picture My Week – Portuguese Classes & Polymer clay October 23, 2013 by portugalholidayguide 2 Comments The villagers harvested the last of the corn . It’s not sweetcorn , but corn for feeding the chickens I was given two large squash , Now I need to find some recipes …. We also had the butcher visit this week to slaughter one of my neighbours goats. A reminder that animals here are not pets ! I have been finishing off some polymer jewellery in autumn colours and practising with my pens and ink for some greetings cards I have been working really hard at learning / practising Portuguese . I started a new class in Gois, and found a great programme called MEMRISE on line, which I have been using every day The weekend was lovely and sunny again, so I joined a friend on a walk to Vila Nova de Ceira ,(4 kms away) we saw lots of nice views a cute little church some very lazy sheep and I saw Medrona fruit for the first time. They look a bit like strawberries , and are used in making an alcoholic drink we had a quick mooch around the small market in Villa Nova , then had a well earned coffee and cake before the walk back.
