I have been making the most of the lovely warm evenings and the beautiful scenery by sitting out on my terrace, studying the sky , (which I hope to paint one of these days )
I spotted an unusual garden when I visited Coimbra this week
I finally stopped to have a look at a junk shop between home and Coimbra
… and it was closed !
On one of my morning walks I noticed many crops are almost ready for harvesting .
The blackberries are already ripe
So I picked enough to make a pie
I have been painting seascapes after my trip to the beach last week
My neighbour showed me a quiet spot by the river Soito which runs through the bottom of my village . It’s where he gets his water to irrigate his crops, and cools off in the heat of the day .
the lovely young Spanish children that have been having holidays in the village went home this week
Over 800 fire fighters and 2 hundred vehicles have been needed to fight a fire in the Caramuo Mountains this week.
Sadly, 3 fire fighters were killed, and more were injured
For many it has been a very difficult week.
My thoughts at the end of this week are for all the brave voluntary fire fighters of Portugal, and their families . They do an outstanding job , saving lives . Thank you.
